No study of the piano is complete, without a study of the theory of music.

Musical theory is exactly what it sounds like, a study of the "theory" or the reason behind the musical notes. 

​

Musical theory is naturally included in both private and group lessons from day one.  As concepts are introduced, the explanation behind that concept helps to reinforce what the student is learning.

​

As the student progresses, a deeper study of theory becomes necessary.

​

Once the student has experienced a study of musical theory, he or she will never listen to music the same way again!

​

The Royal Conservatory provides an excellent curriculum of music theory, counterpoint, analysis and music history for the progressing pianist.
